Academic programs have a new streamlined look at California State University, Stanislaus this year and students have additional offerings to choose from as part of the restructuring. The changes reflect the continuing drive for excellence under the leadership of second-year President Hamid Shirvani.
CSU Stanislaus’ academic structure has been reorganized with the recent expansion from three academic colleges to six. Under the re-alignment, four new colleges oversee departments formerly housed within the College of Arts, Letters, and Sciences. Joining the existing Colleges of Business Administration and Education are the College of the Arts, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Natural Sciences and College of Human and Health Services.President Shirvani said. “These changes are designed to make our academic programs more responsive to students, with an emphasis on high quality education. At CSU Stanislaus, we are committed to providing students with greater choices as we seek to bring the University to the next level of excellence.”
Adding to the University’s academic offerings, CSU Stanislaus will delve into online classes for the first time this fall after an initial trial course was offered through the University’s Stockton Center this summer. Four of the five courses in the pilot program are offered in the Business Administration program at Stockton and the fifth course is a Business Administration class through the Turlock campus.
