6 - 8 p.m. PST
Theatre Department Spring Auditions for Stan State's production of Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show.
Performances are held outside in the amphitheater, May 1-4
The overall style of this production is high satire ‘camp’. The
characters are extremely broad and stylized. Most of the
characters will be in some scant, suggestive costuming.
***Mature Content***
Caution! Please familiarize yourself with the show before auditioning!
- Read the script (available in the Theatre Department office for review)
- AND watch a staged production (NOT the movie) on the internet.
- Please refer to the Department’s Intimacy and Casting Policies, also available in the office.
- If there are actions the character takes or words the character says that you feel you would not be able to perform, please let us know at the audition.
Perhaps a different role might be more suitable for you, i.e., the Offstage Audience Participation Ensemble will not be costumed suggestively.
For the auditions, please prepare:
- A one-minute contemporary, comedic monologue from a play in the same style: satire, "camp", theatre of the absurd, or something similar.
- One 60s/70s rock’n’roll style song. A song from The Rocky Horror Show is an excellent choice, especially if you have a role in mind. Roles are open to any gender, except Brad and Janet.
