Ian A. Moore is Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles. He is the author of two books, the first of which, on Heidegger and the German Mystic Eckhart, has been reviewed in various languages and is being translated into Italian. He is the author of numerous articles, as well as editor and translator of German and of French philosophy, and currently serves as consulting editor of the journal Philosophy Today.
His talk is entitled "For the Love of the Tragic Double Bind: On the Rise and Fall of Natural Law in Schürmann's Broken Hegemonies," and will also include references to Aesop's fable “The Belly and the Members.”
