Based on the grounded theoretical framework of a Culture of CARE (Compassion, Awareness, Respect, & Empathy), this training builds off of other trainings and looks at incorporating culturally relevant pedagogical and organizational practices. Staff, students, faculty, administrators and allies are invited to do a deep dive into supporting students and faculty with strategies that promote an inclusive curriculum and learning environment. This training also reviews concepts of explicit and implicit bias, how to avoid micro-aggressions and strategies to address bullying and harassment, and afford participants opportunities to envision themselves as change agents in their own school settings.
