Asylum Seekers: Moria is a documentary film that exposes the inhumanity surrounding the refugee crisis in Europe. The film takes place on the Greek island of Lesbos and highlights Moria, one of the worst refugee camps in the EU. Located just four miles off the coast of Turkey, Lesbos had thrived on tourism and is now recovering from the inundation of asylum seekers. The Moria camp was once a transitional camp and has now transformed into an inhumane place where asylum seekers see no way out.

Asylum Seekers: Moria is a self-funded project created by Turlock native and former ABC 10 reporter Anne Di Grazia and Netherlands-based journalist Irene Hollebrandse. They embedded themselves in the camp and shot video and stories the world has never seen before. The film is currently in post-production and Grazia and Hollebrandse have curated a traveling art exhibition to raise funds to complete their documentary and to further raise awareness about the asylum seekers. The University Art Gallery will be featuring this exhibition consisting of 50 works created by artists from all over the world and will also be screening the documentary. Each piece of artwork is part of a rolling auction and will be sold to the highest bidder at the end of the three-month show tour.
