Hello, my name is Dr. Vickie Harvey. I started teaching at Stanislaus in 2000. I teach in the Relational and Organizational Track. I enjoy teaching Advanced Interpersonal Communication, Professional Interviewing, Management Communication, Nonverbal Communication, Relational Communication, Family Communication, and the Senior Capstone course. Please come take a class with me and learn more about your own personal communication skills and relationships.

My research interests include exploring how to support first generation college students, health disparities in LGBTQ community, and cross-sex friendships. Can women and men really be “just” friends?

I’m interested in mentoring students who would like to be more active on campus, learn about campus and community resources, or grab lunch and discuss your experiences academically, personally, or socially.  I spend much of my time rescuing dogs, watching The Voice, participating in LGBTQ+ activities, and playing with my own pets when I’m not teaching, grading, or traveling. My goal in mentoring students is to support you in feeling like you’re part of a community here at Stanislaus and enrich your college experience!
