Wendy Matthew, MSN, RN, CHSE is full-time faculty at California State University, Stanislaus and a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator. She is the Simulation Program Director for the School of Nursing, she teaches Foundations in Clinical Nursing Practice, and is the Clinical Coordinator for Adult Health I. Wendy is a certified online instructor and also teaches in our online RN-BSN program. She obtained both her BSN (2010) and MSN (2015) degrees at Stanislaus State. Thesis Project: Development of a tool to guide best practice in simulation debriefing for nursing faculty. Wendy is currently attending the University of Las Vegas to obtain a PhD in Nursing Education. Research interests include simulation, debriefing, situational awareness, critical thinking, and transitioning from student to nurse. Wendy was part of a research group that was recently published in the Journal of Nursing Research for an innovative teaching strategy that incorporated simulation into an online nursing curriculum.
