Family photographs, land deeds and articles of clothing handsewn in the British-run Ba’quba Refugee Camp near Bagdad are some of the items in “Tell Our Stories: Assyrian Genocide,” the exhibit in Stanislaus State’s University Art Gallery that opens Thursday, June 30 and will have guest speakers Friday and Saturday.
To commemorate the launch of our curated Cal Humanities-sponsored gallery exhibition Tell Our Stories: Artifacts from the Assyrian Genocide, the Modern Assyrian Heritage Project at Stan State is pleased to host a gallery viewing and opening program featuring presentations by scholars and community members on the Assyrian genocide era and the Assyrian diaspora. This event is free and open to the public.
Come join us for fun activities celebrating Pride Month, and meet some of our CAPS staff as you enjoy activities and refreshments. This event will be in-person only.
By registering for this event, you agree to adhere to the Stan State Campus Event Protocols.
The WCCC invites you to join us for a special screening of SCREAMING QUEENS: THE RIOT AT COMPTON’S CAFETERIA. Come learn about this important but oft-overlooked piece of California’s LGBT history!
