CSU Stanislaus students work with United Way of Stanislaus County on a public relations campaign targeted to promote workforce training for young adults.
When: Monday, May 21, 2007, 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Demergasso-Bava Hall, Room 107.California State University, Stanislaus students enrolled in Dr. Peter DeCaro's Public Relations Campaigns course are using their newly acquired public relations skills to help Stanislaus County residents climb the ladder to success. Working in collaboration with United Way of Stanislaus County, Dr. DeCaro and his students are developing eye-catching community brochures, public service announcements, and a variety of public relations materials to promote no-cost educational opportunities in career training and development. These opportunities for education and job training are made possible through a partnership between United Way of Stanislaus County and the Stanislaus Workforce Development Collaborative.
Additionally, students are trying to promote United Way's upcoming 2-1-1 non-emergency information service. Dialing 2-1-1 will connect the caller with the appropriate agency to assist with a wide array of supportive services ranging from help with career development to social, emotional, and physical health.
On Monday, May 21 from 6-9p.m., .Dr. DeCaro and his students will present their campaign promotional materials to United Way representatives. This program will take place on the CSU Campus in Demergasso-Bava Hall, Room 107.
