Members of the California State University, Stanislaus Math Club will hold “Tutoring Night” sessions in March, April, and May.

Upcoming Thursday night programs, scheduled from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the University Union Event Center, are scheduled for March 15 and 19, April 2 and 23, and May 7. The final session is scheduled for Monday, May 18 in the University Union Carol Burke Lounge.

Open on a drop-in basis to all who are seeking help with mathematics studies at the junior and senior high school as well as college level, the program is one in a series of tutoring sessions the club is conducting during the 2008-09 academic year. For a $5 donation per person, small student groups as well as individuals receive advice on their mathematics homework from talented CSU Stanislaus mathematics scholars. Proceeds will help support Math Club programs and activities.

Stations will be set up for algebra I, algebra II, geometry, statistics, pre-calculus, and calculus I. Help will also be available for calculus II and basic elementary mathematics.

Healthy snacks for students and their parents are provided courtesy of Starbucks, Raley’s, and Safeway.

Dr. Brian Jue and Dr. John Rock of the mathematics faculty are faculty sponsors for the club.
