WHAT: California State University, Stanislaus Geography students engage Orville Wright Elementary fourth graders to map Modesto’s airport neighborhood

CSU Stanislaus urban geography students are working with Orville Wright fourth graders to map community assets and challenges in the fourth graders’ airport neighborhood.
On Friday, the students will join together to learn about the power of geographic mapping technology. Oroville Wright students will compile data and photos that University students will use to produce a map showing how the elementary school students view their neighborhood.
CSU Stanislaus students will present the finished map to the Orville Wright Elementary students on Friday, Dec. 3, from 1:30 to 2:30 pm. The findings can be used as supportive data to request improvements for the neighborhood.
