California State University, Stanislaus has earned a place in the 2015 edition of the Princeton Review’s “The Best 379 Colleges” guide, marking the ninth consecutive year the University has appeared on the prestigious list.
Colleges and universities in the guide are selected based on categories ranging from academics and admission rates to financial aid and quality of life. Each university profile in the book also includes comments gathered from a Princeton Review survey of 130,000 students from the 379 schools in the book.
As in past years, CSU Stanislaus students praised the University for offering an affordable education, excellent faculty, small class sizes, attentive staff, beautiful scenery and a large selection of student clubs and organizations.

In addition to the “Best Colleges” appearance, CSU Stanislaus also received praise from the Princeton Review earlier this year for its commitment to environmental sustainability. The University was included in “The Princeton Review’s Guide to 332 Green Colleges” in April and has now appeared in all five issues of the annual publication.
Out of 832 colleges rated by the Princeton Review, only the top 332 were included in the Green Colleges list. CSU Stanislaus was recognized for the Naraghi Hall of Science’s LEED Silver rating, the photovoltaic solar panels and other energy efficiency renovations in the Science 1 Building, the Career Center’s guidance on green jobs, and the research opportunities available through its master’s program in ecology and sustainability. The University has also taken steps recently to reduce water use on campus, in light of the governor’s emergency drought declaration.
