Program Director Dr. Viji Sundar of the Mathematics Department has pioneered the summer sessions.
The California State University, Stanislaus Office of Mathematics Grants will sponsor three instructional programs for junior high school and beginning high school students in June and July.
 
The Summer 2009 Math/Science Prep Camp, coordinated by CSU Stanislaus Math Professor Dr. Viji Sundar, is open to students entering the sixth, seventh, and eighth grades. Scheduled for June 22 through July 2, the sessions will be conducted from 8:15 to 11:45 a.m. Monday through Thursday. The fee is $200.
 
Students who are entering high school this fall and have completed first-year algebra and geometry are eligible to participate in the High School Math Access Program (HiMAP) Strategies for Success in High School Algebra program. Scheduled for July 6-30, the Monday through Thursday sessions are conducted from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The fee is $250.
 
A separate HiMAP session on geometry for entering high school students who have completed first-year algebra is also scheduled for July 6-30 at the same time. The fee is $250.
