The California State University, Stanislaus Executive Master of Business Administration Degree program, which has attracted a strong turnout over the past two years since its successful startup in 2007, will offer a second cohort of class sessions in Tracy, starting this Saturday, September 26.

The 15-month, 36-unit program, featuring an aggregate of courses in the University’s Accounting & Finance and Management, Operations & Marketing departments, will return to the downtown Tracy Fire Administration Building training facility for Saturday classes. It will be the fifth cohort of the University’s Executive MBA program that has drawn strong interest from all over the region.

“Tracy’s leaders are to be commended for their foresight in providing strong support for higher education programs that will benefit the community,” CSU Stanislaus President Hamid Shirvani said. “The Executive MBA program enables career professionals to obtain top-flight degrees close to where they work and live.”

Tracy Mayor Brent Ives said the success of the initial program in 2007 demonstrated that there is a large demand for such degrees in the region, that the CSU Stanislaus program works for both students and employers, and that the community is way ahead in preparing a new generation of leaders.

“We’re very pleased with our community’s solid relationship with the University,” Ives said. “It’s these kinds of efforts between the City and the University that will pay off 10 to 15 years down the road when the graduates of this program have advanced up the career ladder.”

Demand was strong for the 28 spots in Stockton where classes concluded on September 12, as well as in Turlock and Modesto where sessions are still under way. Degrees have been awarded to more than 50 students so far, and more than 70 from all over Northern California are enrolled in current programs.
