As U.S. News & World Report continues to expand its base of college rankings, Stan State continues to be recognized by the national publication for excellence, value and diversity.

In all, the publication lists Stan State in seven different categories — including three in which the University is recognized for the first time and another in a ranking making its debut this year.

Stan State remains highly regarded by U.S. News & World Report on the regional level, as it ranked the University No. 8 in the West for social mobility — the first time that category has been developed by the publication. It also ranks Stan State 11th among Western public universities, and 30th in the West among all universities, public or private, representing an upward movement of 18 spots from the 2018 rankings.

In addition, Stan State made its first appearance in the regional rankings for “Best Colleges for Veterans” at No. 17, and in “Value Colleges in the West” at No. 30. The University also was placed 50th in the publication’s list of ethnic diversity champions among colleges in the West, and Stan State’s undergraduate business program was ranked No. 380 in the nation, placing the program among the country’s elite top 20 percent.

This recognition follows a series of honors for Stan State in national publications. Just last week, Washington Monthly named Stan State the No. 1 “Bang for the Buck” public college in the West Region also ranking the University 13th in the nation for the quality of its master’s programs and No. 87 in the nation for the way it serves adult learners.

Earlier in August, in its hallmark “Best Colleges for the Money” category, MONEY magazine ranked Stan State No. 5 among the nation’s “Most Transformative Schools.” Also, for the 14th consecutive year, Stanislaus State was selected as one of the country’s top 385 colleges by The Princeton Review.
