The Central Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has honored Stanislaus State as its Partner of the Year for 2017.

The award recognizes a non-profit or educational organization that has developed a close partnership with the Chamber and the business community as a means to achieve its mission.

In accepting the award on behalf of the University on January 5, Suzanne Espinoza, Stan State’s Vice President for Student Affairs, pointed out the parallel missions of the University and the Hispanic Chamber.

“Stan State President Ellen Junn has established a goal of creating programs that will directly link our graduates with local employers, and this is where the mission of the Central Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce meshes seamlessly with our mission at Stan State,” Espinoza said.

Building partnerships is a key part of Stan State’s Strategic Plan, and this award is an example of how the community recognizes the University as an important partner in unlocking the prosperity and economic potential of our region.

“As we continue to grow our relationship, there will be opportunities for local businesses and larger regional corporations to enter into academic partnerships with our University,” Espinoza said.
