The California State University, Stanislaus chapter of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi has been recognized by its national governing body as a Chapter of Excellence, the highest commendation a chapter can receive from the organization.

The award, given this year to only 29 of the more than 300 chapters nationwide, honors the chapters that excel in recognizing and promoting academic excellence in all fields of higher education and engaging the community of scholars in service to others.

“This distinction signifies a concerted effort on the part of officers and members to have an active, thriving chapter, which promotes and rewards academic excellence in every discipline of the University,” said Chapter President Janice L. Herring.

Chapters achieving the Chapter of Excellence distinction receive a letter of commendation from the Society sent to chapter officers and campus administration, special recognition on the Society’s website, publications and at the biennial convention, a specially designed logo for use in chapter communications, recognition advertisements in local media and educational journals and a $500 award.
