The Princeton Review. 376 Best Colleges. 2012 Edition
(Corrected) NOTE: This version CORRECTS final sentence of first paragraph which incorrectly listed CSU Stanislaus as the only CSU campus to receive recognition in “The Best 376 Colleges.”

California State University (CSU), Stanislaus has again been recognized as of the country's best institutions for undergraduate education, according to The Princeton Review. For the sixth consecutive year, CSU Stanislaus is featured in the 2012 edition of the prestigious college guide "The Best 376 Colleges." CSU Stanislaus is one of only two California State University campuses to receive this honor, and the only one to receive the recognition for six-straight years.

Only 15 percent of America’s 2,500 four-year colleges and just three colleges outside the U.S. are profiled in The Princeton Review's flagship higher education guide. It includes detailed profiles of the colleges, plus ranking lists of top 20 schools in the book in 62 categories based on The Princeton Review's surveys of students attending the colleges. CSU Stanislaus received high marks for quality of life, safety, and “green,” a measure of the university’s commitment to the environment in its policies, practices and education programs.

Additionally, The Princeton Review recognized CSU Stanislaus as one of the best colleges in the West in its website feature, "2012 Best Colleges: Region by Region," posted August 1, 2011, on www.PrincetonReview.com. Collectively, schools on the regions’ best lists represent just 25 percent of four-year colleges in the U.S.

“We are delighted to be included in the Princeton Review for the sixth-straight year,” said CSU Stanislaus President Dr. Hamid Shirvani. “The honor is a strong testament to the outstanding work being done by our faculty and staff.”

Said Robert Franek, Princeton Review's Senior VP/Publisher and author of "The Best 376 Colleges, "We commend CSU Stanislaus for its outstanding academics, which is the primary criteria for our selection of schools for the book. Each of our 376 best colleges offers outstanding academics," he said. "We don't rank them hierarchically, 1 to 376, because they differ widely —and importantly — in their program offerings and campus culture, and that is their strength. Our goal is not to crown one college 'best' overall, but to help applicants find and get in to the college best for them."
