Prospective students and their families will have their special day on campus on Saturday, October 20 with the annual Preview Day program. Freshmen and sophomore students and their families will be on campus as well for the three-day Family Weekend program scheduled for October 19 to 21. CSU Stanislaus is located at One University Circle off Monte Vista Avenue in Turlock.
As high school seniors start the application process for college, they will find the University's October 20 Preview Day a good orientation tool. Prospective college students and their families will receive answers to their planning questions at the 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. program. Check-in starts at 7 a.m. in the Mary Stuart Rogers Educational Services Gateway Building and no advance registration is required. At the Saturday Preview Day, on-site admissions and electronic application sessions will be conducted for fall 2008. Students interested in the on-site admissions and electronic application must bring SAT or ACT test scores, a credit card for the $55 application fee, and an unofficial copy of their transcripts. Campus tours, displays, and workshops for various programs such as financial aid, housing, and the Educational Opportunity Program are on the day's schedule. Participants are welcome to join in many of the Family Weekend activities.

Advance reservations are required for the program which is open to current students and their families. Headlining the Family Weekend activities is a Saturday morning forum featuring Summer Reading Program author John Sumser, a CSU Stanislaus Communication Studies Professor who wrote "A Land Without Time: A Peace Corps Volunteer in Afghanistan." Other activities include tours, demonstrations, open houses in a variety of academic departments and offices, lectures, informational programs, a musical production, cross country meet, and meal gatherings. Family members will have the opportunity to attend a class with students on Friday, October 19.
