Students who want to attend California State University, Stanislaus as first-time freshmen starting in fall 2010 are advised to apply no later than the Monday, November 30 deadline.
Since application deadlines have been moved up from last year’s early date as part of a CSU system-wide plan to reduce student enrollment in order to bring the University in line with limited state funding, CSU Stanislaus officials are advising prospective new students to get their applications in as soon as possible. All incoming freshman students who want their applications to be considered for fall semester classes starting in September 2010 are strongly advised to file by the deadline. Incoming transfer students are also urged to apply early before their February 1 deadline.
“It is unfortunate that we have to restrict enrollment numbers, but state budget cuts have left us with no other choice but to reduce the number of students admitted in order to maintain academic quality,” CSU Stanislaus President Dr. Ham Shirvani said.
CSU Stanislaus closed new admissions for the 2010 winter and spring terms in July to comply with budget limitations restricting enrollment. University admissions officials report that both incoming freshman and transfer student applications are up substantially over last year as applicants focus on meeting the closing deadlines.
Historically, with a few exceptions over the years, CSU Stanislaus had a summer deadline for fall applications until last year when it was moved up to February 1. With a large number of applications expected from students seeking admission next fall, the deadline was again moved up to November 30.
