Union Pacific Railroad to revise previous track maintenance

If you come to campus via Highway 99 we encourage you to use either the Fulkerth or Taylor road exits to access campus Nov. 28-Dec. 2 to avoid the detour and delays due to the complete closure of the Union Pacific Railroad tracks at Monte Vista Avenue. The roadway is expected to reopen by 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2.

Union Pacific Railroad will be making adjustments to the railroad tracks and adjacent panels from the previous work that was done in September. After concrete panels within the crossing are replaced, the City of Turlock will be paving back to the revised concrete panels in order to create a smooth transition over the tracks.

The Monte Vista exit off Hwy. 99 will be open, but drivers attempting to cross Golden State Boulevard will be led through a detour. Signage will be posted to assist drivers. Motorists are advised to use either the Taylor Road or Fulkerth Road exits off Highway 99 or be prepared to detour around the construction area using Countryside Drive.
