What: Financial Literacy and Awareness Means Equity Dollars (FLAME$)

Details: The CSU Stanislaus Office of Mathematics Grants is accepting applications for Financial Literacy and Awareness Means Equity Dollars (FLAME$), a money management course for women. Professor Viji Sundar is the lead instructor for the course, which is sponsored by the university and the American Association of University Women (AAUW).

The course, presented in a series of 12 three-hour class sessions, is designed to increase participants’ understanding of everyday monetary transactions and family budgeting while boosting their self-confidence and independence in all aspects of short- and long-term personal financial acumen. The FLAME$ project is funded in part by the Community Action Grant awarded by AAUW, and the course is free to all female students, faculty and staff at CSU Stanislaus. The participants completing the program will receive a $100 stipend.
