Kellie Marshall, the emergency management specialist at California State University, Stanislaus, was recognized on Nov. 24 by the Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors for the voluntary aid she offered following the Nov. 15 tornado in Denair.
Despite her own house being one of 21 that suffered damage in the incident, Marshall offered assistance to others in the community, putting her training and skills to work.
The supervisors cited Marshall’s response as another example of the great relationship between the county and the University, and praised her in particular for her dedication and willingness to engage, empower, and transform during a critical incident.
