College of Business Administration
The California State University, Stanislaus College of Business Administration (CBA) will present special recognition awards to eight business and community leaders and to a Modesto Certified Public Accountants firm on Friday, May 15 at the Eighth Annual Recognition and Awards Banquet scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in the Main Dining Hall. Open to invited guests and the media, the program will also recognize the achievements of CSU Stanislaus CBA students, student organizations, faculty, staff, alumni, members of the Business Advisory Board, and business leaders from the region.
 
The business and community leader recipients are:
  • Outstanding Business Leader -- Fritz Grupe, CEO and Chairman of the Grupe Company in Stockton.
  • Outstanding Entrepreneur – Matt Swanson, President of Associated Feed & Supply Company in Turlock.
  • Outstanding Emerging Business Leader – Jolissa Welch, Owner of My Garden Café in Ripon and Modesto.
  • Outstanding Community Leader – Dr. Robert Santos, Turlock veterinarian, Turlock Irrigation District and Chatom School District board member, and community activist. 
  • Outstanding CBA Alumni – John Sablan, Information Technology Business Systems Manager at Foster Farms in Livingston.
  • Outstanding CBA Business Advisory Board Member – Dan Leonard, Vice President and CFO of Bronco Wine Company in Ceres.
  • Outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility – Grimbleby Coleman CPAs, Inc. of Modesto.
  • Outstanding Special Recognition Award – Martin Kabat, President and CEO of MedicAlert Foundation International in Turlock.
  • Outstanding Community Service – Kathy Johnson, a Stanislaus County Health Services Agency accountant and volunteer for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program and adult literacy tutoring program.
 
Faculty and staff will be recognized for their achievements and service to the College during the past year, and students will be honored with scholarships for leadership and academic excellence.
