California State University (CSU), Stanislaus Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs James Strong has announced the selection of Dr. Kathy Norman as dean of the CSU Stanislaus College of Education, effective July 1, 2011.

Dr. Norman currently serves as the associate dean for the College of Education at CSU Sacramento. Immediately prior, Dr. Norman served for over 14 years as an integrated credential program coordinator and professor in the College of Education at CSU San Marcos.

“Dr. Norman brings an impressive track record from a number of increasingly responsible administrative positions in public education,” said James Strong, CSU Stanislaus Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Dr. Norman holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Science Education from the University of Kansas, an M.S. in Zoology with an emphasis in Ecology from East Texas State University, and a B.S. and teaching credential from the University of Texas at Arlington. Dr. Norman is currently completing her Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) in Higher Education Leadership at Northcentral University.
