Students who plan to participate in the California State University, Stanislaus Department of Nursing Fall 2010 Registered Nurse (RN) to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Degree program have until Monday, February 1 to apply for admission to the University.
Registered nurses seeking a degree in the full-time, three-semester program must apply as no later than the application deadline for upper division transfer students, according to Nursing Department Chair Dr. Peggy Hodge. She noted that participants have traditionally had until mid-summer to apply, but earlier deadlines brought on by the severe state budget cuts and resulting enrollment limitations have forced CSU Stanislaus to move up its deadlines.
The RN to BSN track is designed to meet the needs of working registered nurses who have an associate degree or diploma in nursing and want to upgrade their credentials with a four-year degree.
For more information, contact the Department of Nursing at (209) 667-3141 or visit the Web site at www.csustan.edu/Nursing where application forms are also posted.
For students seeking an alternative to the on-campus program, CSU Stanislaus will offer a second session starting in Fall 2010 of its 13-month, online BSN Degree program for licensed nurses. Required courses for that degree program offered through the University’s Office of Extended Education are conducted online, except for two on site sessions on Health Assessment and a clinical course in Community Health Nursing.
Enrollment in the 13-month session is open to the first 20 students on a first-come, first-served basis. Information and applications are available on the Extended Education Web site at http://www.extendeded.com/rn2bsn/index.asp. Contact the Office of Extended Education at (209) 667-3111.
