"The Gallo lab is one of the trademarks of quality and excellence at CSU Stanislaus, and we appreciate the company's ongoing support. It is a critical resource in the College of Business and represents a solid investment in our efforts to meet the needs of our region through excellence in teaching and scholarship," said Dr. Ham Shirvani, President of CSU Stanislaus.
CSU Stanislaus' computer information systems program and lab have been key components of the University's growth and quality, helping CSU Stanislaus be ranked among the best business schools in the country. The lab upgrade will accommodate student projects in upper division courses such as Database Management Systems, Decision Support Systems, Structured Programming, and Systems Analysis and Design.
"Gallo's support ensures that our students have the best, most current IT learning experience," said Amin Elmallah, recently retired Dean of the College of Business Administration. "Our long-established relationship with E & J Gallo has been rewarding for our Computer Information Systems students and faculty."
In addition to financial support for the computer lab, E&J Gallo Winery has provided professional input to the department's curriculum, and company officials have been guest lecturers in Computer Information Systems classes.
Gallo's Chief Information Officer Kent Kushar said a large number of students gain internships at Gallo, ultimately leading them to full-time employment and careers. "We're always looking for talented people, and our partnership with the University has given us access to some of the very brightest students. We find that CSU Stanislaus students are well prepared and bring critical skills and competencies with them."
