TURLOCK, CA—Feb. 15, 2011 — The Robert Noyce Scholarship Program, funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), provides scholarship opportunities for math and science majors and career professionals who hold math or science degrees to support them in completing a Secondary (Single Subject) Teaching Credential. Scholarship recipients (Noyce Scholars) will benefit from a cohort support system, enhanced learning and professional development opportunities, and one-on-one mentoring from CSU Stanislaus math and science faculty.

Current math or science majors or degree-holders you may secure up to $30,000 ($10,000 per year for up to three years) in scholarship funds to prepare to teach math or science. Applicants agree to teach in a high-need school for two years for each year of scholarship funding they receive.

There is currently a high demand for math and science teachers in California and throughout the nation. CSU Stanislaus is addressing this need and is committed to providing teacher candidates the necessary tools for entering the workplace as highly qualified math and science teachers.

Robert Noyce Scholarships will be awarded in Spring 2012 to be used in Fall 2012. Math and science majors and career professional math or science degree holders are invited to apply. Sophomores may apply, but the scholarship can be used only for the Junior, Senior, and Credential Years. Scholarships will be awarded each academic year and can be received by a recipient for a maximum of three years.
