California State University, Stanislaus student Theodore Ness and alumna Mally Youthsavath died in a car collision on Highway 99 Friday morning, September 15.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the vehicle driven by Ted Ness was traveling southbound in the northbound lane of Highway 99 around 2 a.m. when it struck the vehicle driven by Mally Youthsavath (traveling northbound in the northbound lane). Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
CSU Stanislaus President Hamid Shirvani said, “It deeply saddens me to hear about the loss of one of our current students and one of our alums. My sincere condolences go out to the families and the entire student body.”
Ness was a Business major and former Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) senator representing the College of Business. Youthsavath, who graduated in 2005, was also a Business major.
