"After a national search and extensive consultation with the College of Business Administration faculty, it was agreed that Professor Aly would best provide the College with strong leadership to build upon its great accomplishments," said Dr. William Covino, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Aly, a native of Egypt and Chair of the Department of Management, Operations, and Marketing since 1994, has had his research published extensively, produced training manuals, and made numerous presentations and technical reports on a variety of business and management topics. He has done extensive consulting work on quality management, and is a member of the Industrial Engineers, the American Production, and Inventory Control Society, and the Production and Operations Management Society. Aly received his Ph.D. from the University of Oklahoma.
Aly succeeds Dr. Amin Elmallah who has served as Dean of the College since 2000. Elmallah spearheaded a successful bid for the College of Business's first international accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) in 2003. The College's Human Resources Management program in the Department of Management, Operations, and Marketing has distinguished itself with a pair of team competition national championships.
