The College of the Arts’ Department of Music at California State University, Stanislaus is pleased to present their traditional holiday choral concert, Carolfest, on Sunday, December 6, 2009, with performances at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. The CSU Stanislaus choral ensembles will perform under the direction of Polly Vasché, Interim Director of Choral and Vocal Studies.
This year’s program will also feature four guest choral ensembles from the area. At the 2 p.m. concert the CSU Stanislaus ensembles will perform with the Liberty High School A Cappella Choir (conducted by Susan Stuart), as well as the Sierra College Chamber Choir (conducted by Dorla Menmuir). The 6 p.m. concert will feature the Turlock High School Madrigals (conducted by Phillip J. Smallwood) and the Thomas Downey High School Knights Choir (conducted by Mary Ann Vlach).
In addition to the performance, the audience will be invited to join the choirs in singing several traditional carols throughout the concert. It will be an evening of cheer and joy in celebration of the season.
Performances will be held on the CSU Stanislaus campus in the Bernell and Flora Snider Music Recital Hall located at One University Circle in Turlock, CA.Attendees are encouraged to arrive early as these concerts typically sell out. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets will be available at the door one hour before each concert and are $12 for general admission and $10 for students, seniors, and CSU faculty and staff. Tickets can be reserved in advance by contacting the Department of Music at (209) 667-3421. All reserved tickets will be held at the Will Call box office window in Snider Recital Hall.
