Starting in August, people in the law enforcement and criminal justice fields can earn a bachelor’s degree in just 16 months at California State University, Stanislaus.
Those interested are invited to attend an information session at the CSU Stanislaus Stockton Center at 6 p.m. April 22 or May 5.
The CSU Stanislaus degree completion program in Criminal Justice, which is scheduled to start Aug. 10, is a unique and flexible way for working police officers, transferring students, and other criminal justice professionals in the Central Valley and surrounding counties to advance their educations and careers. Class meetings will be conducted two evenings a week. A new course will be offered every five weeks, enabling police officers and others employed in criminal justice fields to take classes while continuing to work.
The program is designed to meet the needs of working police officers and others in the criminal justice field who have completed all or most of an Associate Degree in Administration of Justice, or a similar program, at a community college or in Peace Officer Standards & Training Academy training. Students take 50 units of upper division courses in Criminal Justice and the Law Enforcement specialization, in addition to General Education requirements.
