California State University (CSU), Stanislaus announced the upcoming launch of the state’s first fully online Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree program accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The CSU Stanislaus College of Business is among the five percent of business schools worldwide to earn the elite AACSB recognition of its high quality faculty and instruction. The two-year online MBA program will mirror the curriculum of the traditional MBA degree. Approximately 30 students will be accepted into the inaugural student cohort for Fall 2012. The opening of the application period for this program will be announced in the coming weeks.
“The fully online MBA represents an exciting opportunity for increased access that allows each individual to study anytime, anywhere in pursuit of their graduate business degree,” said CSU Stanislaus President Ham Shirvani. “We are extremely proud to offer a high quality, innovative graduate business degree program to enable people to pursue or advance in their careers, and I commend the faculty for this wonderful achievement.”
The CSU Stanislaus College of Business faculty members involved with the new MBA program have completed or are currently completing the rigid requirements for Sloan-C certification in online education. The Sloan Consortium certificate is considered the gold standard in preparing faculty with the theoretical and practical background to transition traditional classroom curriculum to online instruction. “The market for MBA programs has gone online,” said Dr. Randy Harris, Professor of Management in the CSU Stanislaus College of Business and Program Director for the new online MBA program. “We are both responding to the market through our new MBA program and preparing graduate students for the evolution of the workplace — collaborative functions traditionally handled face-to-face are increasingly moving to virtual online environments.”
At roughly $800 per unit, the 33-unit CSU Stanislaus online MBA is very competitively priced. Prospective students are encouraged to research financial aid options—scholarships, loans, and/or employer tuition assistance.
