Local effort coordinates with state and national plans to set new record for “The Most People Doing Jumping Jacks in a 24-Hour Period.”
WHAT: CSU Stanislaus Kinesiology Department and Child Development Center students are leading the local effort to set a new record and promote fitness in schools.
WHEN/WHERE: Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011. Kinesiology professor Erin Hall will be at Walnut Elementary School at 8:15 a.m. Kinesiology Club/CDC event is scheduled to take place in front of the university gym at 9:50 a.m. (Contact Erin Hall at 667-3219)
DETAILS: Between 12 noon PST on Tues., Oct. 11 and 12 noon PST on Wed., Oct. 12, approximately 10,000 people per state will be doing at least one minute of Jumping Jacks without stopping to qualify for the Guinness Record. www.cahperd.org/letsjump
First Lady Michelle Obama will be doing Jumping Jacks in Washington D.C., while CAHPERD (California Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation & Dance) members will coordinate state-wide events in California.
