CSU Stanislaus joins national elite in The Princeton Review's "The Best 371 Colleges" again

Drawing high praise from students and strong marks on academic services, campus life, and environmental policies, California State University, Stanislaus has been rated as one of the nation’s best higher education institutions for the fourth straight year by The Princeton Review.
 
The Princeton Review features CSU Stanislaus in the just released 18th edition of its annual book, "The Best 371 Colleges." Only about 15 percent of America’s 2,500 four-year colleges and two Canadian colleges are in the guide, and CSU Stanislaus is one of only two California State Universities included.
 
“That California State University, Stanislaus has the honor of being among the best colleges and universities in the United States is a strong testimony to the outstanding work being done by our faculty and staff,” CSU Stanislaus President Dr. Hamid Shirvani said.
 
CSU Stanislaus also received recognition as one of 123 “Best Western Colleges” and garnered high marks in the guide’s “Green Rating” category for the second straight year. The Nora and Hashem Naraghi Hall of Science which opened in 2007 has a number of environmentally-friendly features, and the University places a high priority on energy-saving programs. Plans are being made to install power-generating solar panels on campus over the next three years.
 
“We will continue to demonstrate our commitment to sustainability and green technology programs that enable CSU Stanislaus to help preserve the Central Valley’s rich resources while providing students with valuable opportunities as part of their education experience,” Shirvani said.
 
CSU Stanislaus students surveyed by The Princeton Review were highly complimentary of academic programs as well as diversity and campus life featuring an abundance of programs, clubs, and activities that they said provide for “a very practical education” in “a friendly environment.” The small college atmosphere featuring on-campus housing for more than 650 students has “friendly, accessible faculty,” and “small class sizes that allow better communication with both professors and fellow classmates,” according to students.
