TURLOCK, CA—Apr. 19, 2012 Three California State University (CSU), Stanislaus business students have claimed the prestigious 2012 Lyn Boone Memorial Scholarship for top Human Resources students in California.
Dianna Romo, Alyssa Focaracci and Christina Alger each received $3,000 scholarships, which were awarded based on their extracurricular activities and academic accomplishments. All three students are officers of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) club on campus.
“We are very proud that three of our H.R. students were recognized with this scholarship, for which only the top H.R. students in California qualify,” said Dr. Ed Hernandez, Management, Marketing & Operations professor in the College of Business Administration.
Last year, H.R. students won two such scholarships, claiming half of all of the awards for California undergraduates. Historically, CSU Stanislaus H.R. students have won this award eight individual times, placing the university as number one in the State for winning this key award.
