Turlock campus will present local programs and again serve as gathering site for satellite beaming of national Bioneers Conference.
WHAT: 5th Annual Conference for Sustainable Futures featuring the Bioneers Conference
WHEN: Thursday, Oct. 13 through Sunday, Oct. 16
WHERE: CSU Stanislaus, Turlock. Most lectures and presentations will take place in the Mary Stuart Rogers Educational Gateway Services Building (MSR), Room 130.
DETAILS: The Conference for Sustainable Futures takes place concurrently with the annual Bioneers Conference, an acclaimed forum of social and scientific innovators meeting this year in San Rafael, California. Bioneers lectures and presentations will be beamed live to the Turlock campus by satellite from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Speakers include Phillipe Cousteau, Gloria Steinem, Amory Lovins and John D. Liu. http://www.bioneers.org/conference
Afternoon and evening programs taking place in Turlock include an opening presentation at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13 by CSU Stanislaus History professor, Dr. Philip Garone, speaking on “The Fall and Rise of the Wetlands of California’s Great Central Valley.” On Friday, “Students, Communities, and Sustainability” will be presented from 2 to 5 p.m.
Conference admission is free and the event is open to the public.
