California State University, Stanislaus will host a panel discussion of six 5th District Court of Appeals justices on Thursday.
The forum is open to the public, and will be driven by University students’ and faculty’s questions. Dr. Phyllis Gerstenfeld, the chair of the Criminal Justice Department, will moderate.
The fifth appellate district hears appeals from cases decided in each county’s superior court, which includes criminal, civil, family law, juvenile delinquency and dependency, probate and others. The district is comprised of nine counties: Fresno, Kern, Kings, Madera, Mariposa, Merced, Stanislaus, Tulare and Tuolumne.
