California State University, Stanislaus has advanced its Fall 2008 application deadline for first-time freshman to February 1 as part of a CSU mandate in response to anticipated state budget cuts.
It is imperative that all prospective first-time CSU Stanislaus freshmen submit their applications online or in person by the end of the day on Friday, February 1. The deadline is being enforced in response to a $312.9 million CSU budget cut proposed this month by Gov. Schwarzenegger. The budget proposal does not cover funding access for 10,000 CSU students which would mean enrollment limits at CSU campuses.
Fall application deadlines for qualified transfer students and graduate students will continue to be June 30. Students and high school and community college counselors are advised to contact the University Student Outreach Office at 209-667-3070 if they have questions about qualifications and data submission deadlines.
CSU Stanislaus representatives will be visiting the University's major community college partner campuses -- Modesto Junior College, Merced College, San Joaquin Delta College, and Columbia College -- to specifically explain the academic qualifications students need to transfer to a CSU campus. University officials want to assure that community college counselors and students are fully aware of transfer requirements.
