California State University, Stanislaus will launch its new Executive Master of Business Administration degree program this Saturday, August 25 in Tracy.

The 15-month, 36-unit program will offer an aggregate of courses in the University's Accounting & Finance and Management, Operations, & Marketing departments. Classes will be held on Saturdays in the downtown Tracy Fire Administration Building training facility. High demand for the program in Tracy where a capacity group of 28 students from all over the region are enrolled, has prompted plans for a second cohort that will begin in April 2008 at the CSU Stanislaus Stockton Center.

An inaugural reception for program participants, the media, and invited guests is scheduled for 5 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 25 at Tracy City Hall, 333 Civic Center Plaza.

"This is exciting for our city," said Tracy Mayor Brent Ives. "The response to the program has told the whole story about the pent up demand for an executive MBA program in the region."

CSU Stanislaus President Dr. Hamid Shirvani said surveys done by the University have indicated there is a high demand for the Executive MBA program in San Joaquin County. Well-trained management professionals are highly sought after by industry and organizations in the region and this program will enable them to obtain their degree close to where they work and live, President Shirvani noted.

The program will offer an executive learning experience that is based on accelerated instruction, cohort learners, leadership emphasis, and delivery methods that prepare participants to address national and global changes in the business environment. Faculty teaching the classes include outstanding scholars and business leaders who provide top-level instruction on management and advanced business concepts.

"It will be highly personalized education and very rewarding work," said Ashour Badal, EMBA Senior Associate Director and a member of the CSU Stanislaus College of Business Administration faculty. "Graduates of this program will hit the ground running because of the practical experience that the course provides."

The College of Business Administration is fully accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the nation's premier accrediting agency. For more information on the program, contact the CSU Stanislaus College of Business Administration at (209) 667-3288.
