Guest speaker presentation as part of the department’s speaker series featuring Robin M. Muller, Professor of Philosophy at California State University, Northridge.
Dr. Muller will present “The Cradle and the Kiln: Thinking California from Below,” a philosophical exploration of California’s historical and social formation through its physical and geological terrain. The presentation considers images of gold mining and fire to examine how the earth’s geological processes have shaped California as both a place and an idea. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A with attendees.
