Healthcare workers putting their hands together

The purpose of these events is to host our regularly scheduled meetings and ensure effective communication, planning, and engagement within our organization. Meetings will occur weekly, alternating between executive meetings and general member meetings.  Executive meetings will focus on organizational planning and leadership responsibilities.

During these meetings, officers will plan upcoming events and meetings, coordinate dates and timelines, delegate tasks, prepare promotional materials such as flyers and social media content, review attendance and participation, discuss budget needs, and address any challenges or concerns related to the organization’s operations. Officers will also reflect on past events to evaluate what was successful and identify areas for improvement.  General meetings will focus on engaging members and keeping them informed.

General meetings will usually consist of information sessions designed to educate and support members interested in pursuing careers in healthcare and medicine. These meetings will include presentations and discussions on various pathways in medicine and other health professions, including information on medical school preparation, prerequisite coursework, entrance exams, and application timelines.  General meetings may also feature guest speakers, such as medical students, healthcare professionals, faculty members, or alumni, who will share their experiences, career paths, and advice. Additional topics will include volunteering opportunities, clinical experience options, research involvement, and shadowing opportunities, with guidance on how members can find and apply for these experiences.

Meetings will also provide time for questions and open discussion, allowing members to seek advice, share experiences, and connect with peers who have similar career goals. When appropriate, meetings may include short interactive activities or reflections to encourage engagement and help members apply the information to their own academic and professional planning.
