This talk explores how responsibility is understood in modern philosophy. Engaging with Emmanuel Levinas, Dr. Topete challenges the view that responsibility is limited to individual blame. Drawing on abolitionist thinkers such as Epifanio de Moirans and Quobna Ottobah Cugoano, the talk presents a broader concept grounded in recognizing injustice, relevant to issues like slavery and colonialism.

Dr. Topete earned his BA in Philosophy from Stan State in 2016.
