About Denise Dahn
Denise Dahn is an artist, designer, and writer in Seattle. After studying art and geography and graduating from the University of Washington, she spent the first decade of her professional career exploring various art-related opportunities until her search led her to the exciting field of Interpretation. For more than 20 years she has owned and operated Dahn Design, a one-person company occupying a highly specialized niche: creating interpretive signs and exhibits to engage, educate, and inspire people to connect more deeply with the natural world.
Her work involved creating original art and text to interpret nature, including the diversity of wildlife habitats and ecosystems found in National Parks and Forests, Wildlife Refuges, and other parks, preserves, and natural areas. She also interpreted many historical and cultural topics and a variety of earth-science phenomena. She has completed hundreds of sign projects across the county, ranging from tropical Florida to arctic Alaska.
She retired her design business in 2021 and now enjoys personal artistic projects, including writing and illustrating a young-adult adventure novel and exploring new media such as digital-tablet drawing and animation.
