Dr. Jim Youngblom, beloved professor for 31 years in the Department of Biological Sciences at Stanislaus State passed away during a backpacking trip to Yosemite National Park. He was a nature-loving, energetic and dynamic teacher scientist. To honor his memory, we would like to invite faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends to join us for a celebration of Jim’s life.
Please register via Zoom

The program will include remarks and the sharing of favorite stories about Jim by President Ellen Junn, Dean Dave Evans and Jim’s friends and colleagues; watching a memorial video and photo slideshow; and the Jim Youngblom Research Laboratory dedication ceremony.

If you have a comment, story or photo of Jim to share with us, please post it on the Remembering Dr. Jim Youngblom Padlet site. We may want to read your post during the ceremony.

Jim, as chair of the Department of Biological Sciences, was working hard to build a better research space for graduate and undergraduate students. One of his dreams was to renovate a room on the third floor in Naraghi Hall into a research-focused lab space. Jim’s family has established the James Youngblom Memorial Fund to initiate the renovations. If you want to support this project, please visit the website.
