Alumni, Campus Community, Public

Join Dr. Laurissa Hamilton for a 60-90 minute informal guided survey of the birds on the beautiful Stan State campus. We will meet in the first-floor lobby of Naraghi Hall.  Binoculars and field guides are available for participants to borrow for those preregistering indicating their requirements. The walk itself consists of a tour of the campus, pointing out and identifying birds, and giving natural history information about birds, as is appropriate given the interest level of the participants. If participants want to try to find any particular bird we will try to do that, otherwise, the walk will just hit the parts of campus where I have been seeing the most birds, or any particularly interesting bird or birds. I will also keep notes on all the species we see and the numbers of each, as well as occasional photographs, all of which I will post as a single checklist on ebird.org and share with any interested participants, so they can find more information on what we saw. For example, here is my list from the last bird walk.

We request that you preregister to attend, especially if you wish to borrow binoculars and a field guide.  Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and participants will be required to sign a liability waiver before participating.

Registration will be limited to 20 participants.  You can register here:
