Art Exhibition - Nari: The Indian Woman

The BFA Gallery at Stan State Art Space is pleased to announce the Bachelor of Fine Arts candidate Gurkanwar Singh fine art exhibition Nari:  The Indian Woman. This exhibition is the senior solo exhibition for the graduating senior. 

Singh describes his work: 

"My work contends with the tradition of portraiture, I am to construct narrative scenes that depict women in my family showing their personalities in specific contexts. This work consists of portraits of my mother, grandmother, nieces, and sisters who influence me and represent the strength in my life. I am particularly invested in representing my Indian culture to the American audience. The techniques I will be using to create these artworks will include oil painting and charcoal drawing."

This exhibition will be from November 28 - December 2, 2023 at the BFA Solo gallery at the Stan State Art Space located at 226 North First Street in downtown Turlock. Hours are 12-5 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
