The 4th Annual Asian American Pacific Islander Event celebrates 2024 as the Year of the Dragon in the tradition of the Chinese zodiac. It symbolizes power, good fortune, and strength and is associated with auspicious traits like intelligence, ambition, and charisma. This directly contradicts the colonized, Eurocentric framing of dragons as evil, greedy, and malevolent.
Panelists and practitioners will present on the transformative power and critical activism enacted through their knowledge and practice of Asian American Studies, ancestral diasporic Asian healing practices, and Chinese astrology. Join us for an evening of illuminating talks and astrological readings!
