Joaquin Murieta Author to Speak at CSU Stanislaus

The CSU Stanislaus Chicano Alumni Chapter, Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan (MEChA) and Los Hijos del Teatro del Campo are sponsoring the program.

Garza, a former university administrator and college professor, has published two books about Murieta: “Joaquin: Demystifying the Murieta Legend” and “Joaquin Murrieta: A Quest for Justice”.

Active in the Chicano movement since the 1960s and a community organizer, Garza served as a superintendent of schools in Parlier in addition to teaching and has worked in the public and private sectors.
