California State University, Stanislaus President Dr. Hamid Shirvani announced the appointment of Dr. Linda Nowak as the new Dean for the College of Business Administration. Nowak will start her new duties on March 1.

In addition to being the Executive Director of the Wine Business Institute, Nowak is a marketing professor and serves on the School of Business and Economics Executive Management Team at Sonoma State University.

“Dr. Nowak has a strong track record in strategic planning, curricular and fiscal management, fundraising, program review and development, accreditation, recruitment, continuing education, and endowment and advisory board management,” President Shirvani said. “She has demonstrated her leadership ability at various levels. We are pleased to have her at CSU Stanislaus.”

Since joining Sonoma State as a faculty member in 1996, Nowak has advanced into administrative duties, including Coordinator of the Association to Advance College Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditation process for graduate and undergraduate programs, Coordinator of the Undergraduate and Graduate programs, and a department chair. Her credentials include 15 years of industry experience in asset management, finance, development and marketing.

Her new duties include managing a major endowment fund, an executive advisory board, fostering relationships in the community, fundraising, program development, and undergraduate, graduate and continuing education programs.

Nowak holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from St. Louis University, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Mercer University and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
